Ambode Outlaws Omo Onile

If you have ever lived in Lagos, been to Lagos or tried to erect any structure in Lagos you must have very well heard of or encountered these guys called "Omo onile"

Omo onile have always been one  of the major menace investors fear in Lagos. In a bid to encourage investment, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Amobode has taken a very huge step by banning the activities of Omo onile with signing of The Lagos State Properties Protection Law.

Governor Ambode who highlighted that a lot of investors and would-be property owners scared away from Lagos because of the untold hardship and embarrassment they face from land grabbers, but with the  signing of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law such occurrence would stop.

He said
"The Lagos State Properties Protection Law will give legal backing to the operations of ourlaw enforcement officers. The main objectiveof this Law is to ensure that our investors, businessmen and the general populace carry on their legitimate land/property transactions without any hindrance or intimidation henceforth. The Property Law will eliminate the activities of persons or corporate entities who use force and intimidation to dispossess or prevent any person or entity from acquiring legitimate interest and possession of property, ensure that the Special Task Force on Land-Grabbers work with all Security agencies to ensure enforcement of State Government and Private property rights in the State, and ensure proper coordination of the efforts of the various agencies of government charged with enforcing the state government's rights over land in Lagos".

Governor Ambode also in the bid to secure lives and properties of all who lives i n Lagos also  signed the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law. The Lagos Neighborhood safety Corps Law is aimed at not just protecting lives but to help all authorities work around the clock to see to the security of investment and to wow investors to invest in a well secured Lagos. He said “In addition to equipping our security agencies, we have now created a legal framework to put some form of communal protection in place to boost and support the great job the Nigeria Police is presently doing".

RACE FOR OIL: 19 NORTHERN STATE APPOINT BRITISH COMPANY TO EXPLORE FOR OIL IN THE NORTH

The desire for the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in the North-East of Nigeria has prompted a huge step with the hiring of a British firm to explore for oil in the Lake chad and Benin basins

Mallam Bashir Dalhatu, Chairman of the Northern Nigerian Development company, over the weekend made known that The British Coy has already stated exploration for oil in  Lake Chad and Benin basins.

This information was learnt when Kastina State Governor and Board Chairman of the Northern Nigerian Development Company visited.

“We have engaged a British company that is already working in the Lake Chad region and from Niger and Chad side in the same area with us and we have been meeting with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in order to put efforts together"

Ignorance is truly no excuse for a crime. A Nigerian pilgrim has himself in Saudi Arabian police custody for ignorantly tooking kolanuts to Saudi Aribian holy land

The pilgrim has been fined 10,000  Saudi Riyals for entering the holy land with 10 kolanuts.

The Acting Ambassador of Nigeria in Saudi Arabia Monday afternoon confirmed the development, saying the Saudi authorities categorised the importation of kolanuts into the Saudi Arabia as illegal.

However the officials of the Nigerian Consulate, Jeddah are currently pleading for a finger of mercy for the pilgrim.

Colonel Sani Usman on Sunday released a statement accusing three persons whom the army intelligence believe to have a link and knowledge of the terrorist activities of Boko Haram, including the whereabout of the Chibok girls. He said that two recent Boko Haram videos indicated that the trio (Aisha Wakil, Ahmed Bolori, and Ahmed Sarkida) has information on the conditions and the exact location of the Chibok Girls. The Army spokesman said,

“We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011 (as amended) where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorist’s activities. This has become necessary as a result of their link with the last two videos released by the insurgents and other findings of our preliminary investigations...We are therefore, calling on all Nigerians and peace loving people to give us useful information on their whereabouts.“

He however urged them to hand themselves over to the army and assist with information for the army to rescue the girls. He also urged Nigerians to help with information if anybody has any information he/she can offer.

Usain Bolt Wins Third Rio Gold Medal, Plans To Immortalize Self with Five

Usain Bolt has three times in a role won the Olympics gold medal by beating American Justin Gatlin.

With 9.81seconds he reminds us of his success in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Glatin came second with  0.08 seconds  behind Bolt, and Canada's Andre de Grasse as the third runner up.

Jamaica's Usain Bolt said his mission in the Olympics is to immortalise himself by winning five gold medal in a role.
"Somebody said I can become immortal...Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal."
