U.S Court gives $2million Dollars to Black Man for Wrongfully Spending 40 Years in Jail.

59 years old Ricky Johnson will receive $2 million dollar from the State for wrongfully spending 40 years behind bars for the murder he did not commit.

Johnson in 1979, was  sentenced to prison for the death of a businessman after the testimony of a 12 year old who said he saw him commit the crime.However, things  changed for good when a witness Eddie Vernon, renacted his testimony setting Jackson free.

Jackson has already been awarded $1million dollars on Thursday as a down payment. The $2 million dollars is computed from the states base rate for wrongful conviction compensation which stands at $40,330 dollars per year in jail, including computation for inflation and tax free awards. Johnson will also  receive money to account for lost wages.

Excitement hits Kenneth, Ifeoma Okonkwo, and the entire family of Nollywood as their veteran actor finally hears the cry of a new born. Ifeoma delivered her baby boy at the University of Maryland, St. Joseph Medical Center, USA on the 6th of May, 2016, after almost 9 years of marriage.

Okonkwo in his own words said “God is a faithful God. He said we shall be fruitful and multiply, that there shall be none barren in our midst and He just fulfilled His words. To Him be all the glory in Jesus name”.

He thanked all those who stood by them and offered prayers to God on their behalf.

NEMA IDP DEMOGRAPHY

After due demographic study, NEMA gives the population statistics of IDP camp.

The results show that 53% of the #IDP population are #female and 47% are #male.
#Children under 18 constitute 54% of the #IDP population and more than half of them are under five years old.
