CBN Bullion Van Attacked, Two Policemen Dead, Three Injured

Tangled in a gunfire battle, two policemen where shot dead today and three injured as they tried to hamper an armed robbery attack on a Central Bank Billion van.

The CBN Billion van which was carrying money from Jos to Lafia, Nassaraw was attacked at Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Hawan Kibo hills, Riyomi Plateau.

The Plateau State Police spokesman, Mr Terna Tyopev confirmed that the van was converging money to Nasawara State when it was ambushed  leaving two policemen dead and three injured. He also highlighted that if not for the efforts of the policemen the robbers would have successful made away with the money

“It was a clear case of ambush; they were attacked unexpectedly.Policemen escorting the bullion van repelled the attack. Unfortunately, we lost two of our men on the spot, while three other were badly injured,” Tyopev Said.

The Police PRO dropped a statement to mark the effort of the policemen he said “...because our men responded vigorously; they reacted firmly"
