AFCON Qualifers:" Remain Focused" Nwosu

As the Super Eagles prepares to face Tanzania next week in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, former national team player , Henry Nwosu has advised the Sunday Oliseh led team to prepare adequately to enable them pick the maximum points in the East African country. Super Eagles will on September 5 in Dar es Salaam face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania. The match will serve as the first text for Coach Sunday Oliseh since he was handed over the national team job. The Super Eagles will be looking to build on their opening win over Chad when they take on the Taifa Stars, who were beaten 3-0 by group leaders Egypt in Cairo in June.Nigeria defeated Chad 2-0 in Kaduna and only trails the Pharaohs by an inferior goal difference. Nwosu told Saturday Mirror that there is need for the Super Eagles gaffer to use the best players in camp to prosecute the match even as he expressed optimism that the team is capable of beating Tanzania in their home ground.“I have no doubt that Nigeria will pick the maximum point in Tanzania but there is the need for the team to remain focused ahead of the match.“As this is the first match to be handled by Oliseh since his appointment, I expect him to approach it with all seriousness because anything in the contrary will affect the country’s qualification for Gabon 2017”, said the former New Nigeria Bank of Benin player. On the exclusion of Mikel Obi from the encounter, the former New Nigeria Bank of Benin and ACB of Lagos midfielder noted that it is unfortunate that the Chelsea midfielder will not be in action for the country in Tanzania but was quick to advise Oliseh and Mikel to settle their differences in the interest of Nigerian football.
