The National House of Assembly was yesterday put in tantrum and chaos by minority PDP member when kachikwu was called to to the hallowed chamber to defend the federal government's decision to remove fuel subsidy at such a difficult time
The drama started when the Speaker Dagaro called on majority leader Femi Gbajabiamila to move a motion, which was seconded by Babu Jubril for kachikwu to enter the hallowed chamber and explain why the federal government decided to take a hash leap of increasing fuel pump price from N86.50 to N145. However the motion was met with much confrontation as members of the PDP were seen shouting" nay nay "and waving the national flag.
The speaker after much effort put the house environment calm and kachikwu addressed the house. He explained that the fuel subsidy will by far help all national refinery to commence full refining by 2018 and the nation to begin exploration of petroleum products by 2019.
Kachikwu boasted that the new price regime has gone into effect, and that " the market will established in matter of days, in terms of production availability, the queue
have virtually disappeared, it is expected that smuggling and diversion will diminish substantially"
